SDI continues to push to be the industry leader and gold standard for corporate governance.The Long Products Division, Steel of West Virginia, has an immediate opening for a Mill Day Supervisor to oversee operations and projects for the #2 Mill Area.Responsible for supervision of personnel and operations including:safety of personnelquality of productproduction ratesenforcement of company policies and proceduresResponsibilitiesImplement the production plan to assure on time delivery and highest quality standards. Manage reliable and predictable operations. Reduce process variability and improve consistency throughout the department. Motivate the crew to effectively accomplish the tasks at hand while monitoring employee performance and task efficiency. Identify and implement improvements to the manufacturing process. Ensure SDI/OSHA safety requirements are met and exceeded. Assure the schedule is designed to gain maximum utilization of manpower, equipment, and material on all shifts. Effectively practice Performance Based Management by coaching and developing employees. Ability to lead staff to meet production demandsQualificationsStrong mechanical aptitudeStrong organization and planning skillsAbility and desire to improve efficiency and increase capacity.Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor.Self-motivated with positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and proven leadership skills.Strong computer skills3+ years of production supervisory experience desired.5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment desired.#J-18808-Ljbffr
