Day-Shift Warehouse & Plant Ops Associate - $17.50/hr

Position PurposePay Rate: $17.50/Hour and it is paid on the weekly basis. Overtime (OT) is available based on business needs and requires management approval. OT is paid time and-half after 40 hours of work per week.Daily uniforms, PPE, and working boots are provided free of charge by the company.Work Schedule: Monday ~ Friday and the plant associate will work 5 days per week / 8 hours per day . There is an unpaid 30-minute lunch. This is a FIRST SHIFT and starts at 10:00am and ends at 6:00pm. Two (2) days off.Valid Driver's License is required for this position and punctuality and attendance policy is strictly enforced.Under direct supervision, the Warehouse Associate role receives inbound materials, segregating and loading paper into paper shredder, performs equipment maintenance, loads and unloads vehicles, performs general housekeeping and processes material for treatment. Assembles mail-back and other product kits.Key Job ActivitiesAssembles mail back and other product kits according to established procedures. Picks kits and stock items from printed pick list to fulfill customer ordersPacks orders for shipment to insure efficient use of materials and safety of items in transitUnloads, inspects, and reports status of inbound materialsUses handheld to execute outbound order shipmentsStocks pick and rack locations to meet projected demand requirementsto increase efficiencies and the effectiveness of servicing customer needs. Participates in process improvement activities (LEAN)Unloads shredded paper, media, and product from Shred-it's trucks at the assigned branch nightlyReload trucks with specific equipment needed for the next day's assignmentOperates and maintains baling machinery at the branchEnsures all paper bales are staged or loaded for shipment as requiredPerforms shredding operations in support of Shred-it's off-site shredding programSafeguards plant hardware and equipment by locking and activating security systemsOperates forklifts and performs preventative maintenance on forklifts as requiredMaintains a clean and safe working area according to Shred-It and NAID standardsEnsures that all truck compartments and cabs are cleaned nightly in accordance with company guidelinesPerforms weekly, monthly and yearly preventative maintenance on all equipmentMaintains supplies for plant operationsWorks toward achieving maximum efficiencies in an established work environment while maintaining safety & compliance with all applicable rules and regulationsPerforms physical inventory countsProvides feedback to management on waysPerforms necessary record keeping activitiesPerform other duties and responsibilities, as assignedDemonstrates the ability to observe safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properlyDemonstrates the ability to operate forklift, pallet jack, and dollyDemonstrates the ability to drive equipment in close quartersEducationPreferred Education: in High School or EquivalentExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent0-1 Years of Experience, preferably in manufacturing or warehouse environment preferredOperates forklift, pallet jack and dolly6+ Months experience as a certified forklift driver and basic maintenance is preferredAbility to communicate effectively and understand and follow health and safety directives and performance and conduct standards, policies and procedures that apply to the role and locationBenefitsStericycle currently offers its employees the option to participate in a full range of benefits, including a health care program which includes medical, dental, vision and prescription coverage, healthcare and dependent care flexible spending accounts, life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance, an employee assistance program, tuition reimbursement, paid vacation and sick time, a 401(k) plan, and an employee stock purchase plan.
