Position Title: CORE Employment Specialist (Hub 1)

Job Description: POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for assessing, providing workforce development and coaching, and placing participants in the workforce in the CORE Hub 1-E region that includes Mason, Jackson, and Wood counites and provide support to other CORE service areas. The employment specialist reports to Creating Opportunities for Recovery Employment program director.

ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT RESPONSIBILITIES: Attendance maintains good attendance in coordination with UP&S policy. Punctuality reports to work on time and is ready for duty. Uses time sheet to record time correctly for each pay period.

WORK ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES: Engages with participants and establishes professional, trusting, and collaborative relationships directed toward the goal of competitive employment. Assesses participants' employability skills, vocational functioning, and barriers to employment using motivational interviewing techniques, background information, and work experiences. Provides job development assistance, resume development, and conducts job search activities directed toward positions that are individualized to the interests and uniqueness of people on his/her caseload. Maintains and documents weekly contact with participant caseload to provide employability coaching, and review job placement progress. Engage, establish, and grow partner relationships with community agencies including referral, community resource agencies, career-skills training programs, and employers. Meets baseline monthly program goals: 10 referrals per month, 5 job placements per month, and 1 employer business partner per month (subject to change based on program and seasonal needs). Actively engages with community organizations to build awareness, participate in outreach events, and identify community resources to support participants and remove barriers to employment. Provides education and support to employers to support healthy and safe workplaces. Submits accurate, prompt reports as requested by program director and internal leadership. Research current local labor market information to guide CORE services. Attend in-person and virtual staff meetings and adhere to program procedures and other duties as assigned. Ability to manage and respond to multiple tasks and deadlines using effective time management skills.

Other Required Course/Training: Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Must be able to proficiently use a data management system. Must be able to market and secure business partnerships. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as demonstrated skills in public speaking, leadership, and group facilitation. Must demonstrate a clear understanding of professional boundaries and confidentiality when working with individuals and the professional staff of partner agencies. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Salary Range: Salary is commensurate with experience and internal equity

Required Qualifications

Education: Associate degree in human resources, social services, business management or related fields. Applicants who do not possess an associate's degree must have at minimum five years of social services, human resources, business management experience.

Experience: Applicants who do not possess an associate's degree must have at minimum five years of social services, human resources, business management experience. Minimum of two years of experience in recruitment, business management, social service, or human resource fields.
