Maintenance Manufacturing Engineering TechReports to: Maintenance ManagerScope:The Maintenance Manufacturing Engineering Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance of plant assets. They define and lead processes and systems for providing a proper response to failures and quality repairs to the equipment by specifying repairs and modifications to equipment.It is important to note the maintenance ME Tech is not the backfill for the manager on leave, contractor management, and other administrative duties that are part of the maintenance function.Responsibilities and DutiesDeveloping maintenance procedures, methods, and testingSupporting craftsmen performing all facets of maintenance work and responding to equipment faultsTroubleshooting equipment breakdownsSpecifying replacement parts and ensuring the equipment is functioning correctlyAssist Planners in the development of Work PackagesInspecting jobs to verify the work is performed correctlyPartnering with other departments and customers, specifically other Engineering and production teamsDeveloping processes to manage maintenance tools, and equipmentMonitoring and controlling maintenance costsLeading responses for emergencies, unplanned problems, and repairsDriving improvements in health and safety policies and proceduresLeading improvement to maintenance methods and safety of plant, personnel, and production processesProvide skill-based training to craftsmen on specific equipment in the plant and general skill-based knowledgeProgramming programmable logic controllers (PLC), and distributed control system (DCS) (electrical)Developing installation and commissioning packages for new installationMeasurement of Position PerformanceProvide timely technical support to supervisors and tradesImprove mean time to repair (MTTR), extend mean to between failure (MTBF)Additions and corrections to spare parts as required.PM & PdM program executed on time as plannedPosition GoalsTechnical support to the maintenance staff (supervisors and trades)Ensure the maintenance function provides operations with the service it requiresPM & PdM program executed as scheduled, corrective actions addressedMinimize MTTR and operational downtime by supporting equipment repair right the first timeRelationshipsWork closely with operations and maintenance supervision.Work closely with planners and schedulerWork closely with stores and purchasing personnelMaintain good working relationships with maintenance tradesCoordinate asset management activities with reliability EngineersWork with other organizational units such as HR and accountingMaintenance ME Tech is different and distinct from project, process, and reliability technicians. Maintenance ME Tech focuses on the preservation of day-to-day asset reliability.Requirements, Qualifications, and Selection CriteriaMechanical / Electrical Engineering degree or significant experience with a tech school background desired.Have an understanding of equipment operationHave an understanding of equipment repair practicesAbility to use a CMMS and analyze dataTraining in industrial automationTraining and certifications in some of the following:Predictive TechnologiesRepair PracticesSpare PartsVertiv is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
