The Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Compliance, the Compliance Specialist is responsible for assisting in the effective administration of the Corporate Compliance Program by aiding the development, implementation, and execution of all elements of the organization-wide compliance program that oversees contractual, regulatory, accreditation, and HIPAA privacy and security compliance.

What You'll Do

  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of the compliance program, including supporting the development, implementation, and operation of all seven elements of an effective compliance program as outlined in guidance from the HHS Office of the Inspector General (OIG).
  • Develop, initiate, maintains and revise policies and procedures for the general operation of the compliance program and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical or improper conduct
  • Support the SVP, Compliance Officer as needed to ensure effective oversight of the compliance program, including compliance committee materials and reporting
  • Collaborate with other business leaders to develop and manager enterprise wide policies
  • Provide support for the development of various compliance training materials and communication projects to support the educational efforts of the compliance program
  • Responsible for assigning, tracking and follow up of compliance and privacy training
  • Performs monthly sanction and exclusion checks on all employees, contractors and vendors
  • Carrie out those tasks necessary to advance the strategic and risk-based priorities of the compliance program, including supporting the annual compliance risk assessment, compliance work plan, and communication/awareness campaigns.
  • Monitor the performance of the compliance program and related activities on a continuing basis, taking appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness
  • Assist in the investigation and resolution of compliance incidents, and generates reports to ensure full resolution of compliance incidents
  • Create compliance monitoring and performance dashboards to help assess effectiveness of the compliance program and monitor key performance indicators
  • Serve as a resource on the company's compliance with its policies, laws and regulations
  • Create and manage effective action plans in response to audit discoveries and compliance violations
  • Review and monitor adherence to company procedures, practices, and documents to identify possible weaknesses or risk
  • Other duties as assigned
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Health care compliance certification preferred (CHC, CPCO)
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience performing work related to identifying, analyzing, and evaluating compliance issues.
  • Experience working for a Healthcare organization
  • Excellent computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills through various channels
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently, but function as part of a team
  • Detail oriented
  • Flexible and willingness to take on new tasks with guidance
  • Professional written, verbal communication, and analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational skill with attention to detail
  • Understand and implement systems to ensure compliance with local, state, federal and organizational requirements
  • Ability to collaborate and provide exemplary provider service
  • Ability to thrive in a remote based environment, high growth, and fast paced organization
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Occasional travel for meetings and collaboration
