TITLE: Cook

REPORTS TO: School Food Service Manager/Principal

JOB GOAL: To serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and friendliness.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in the preparation of food portions and prepares cafeteria counter.
  • Serves students and staff from the cafeteria counter.
  • Removes used dishes and assists in the cleaning of counters, tables, and furnishings in the dining area and kitchen.
  • Monitor food safety and temperatures of food in accordance with HAACP standards.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory stock and maintain adequate and clean storage areas.
  • Monitor food usage and appropriately document production records.
  • Perform cashier functions.
  • Fully knowledgeable of meal pattern requirements.
  • Assist in special events as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by the School Food Service Manager , Principal or Superintendent.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications that the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
  • Preferably have computer skills
  • Satisfactory completion of State mandated health examination.

EVALUATION:
  • Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the School Food Service Manager/Principal.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
  • Salary commensurate with the Russell Independent Schools Classified Salary Schedule.
