ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs across 50-75 restaurant locations (e.g., ice machines, water heaters, misting systems).
  • Customize preventive maintenance schedules for assigned systems to enhance the safe and efficient operation of restaurants, while developing specific schedules to minimize maintenance costs.
  • Train restaurant managers and staff on basic maintenance and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Monitor facility maintenance processes, reporting any issues to ensure smooth operations.
  • Provide concise summaries of activities and accomplishments during each site visit to the Operations Team.
  • Act as the intermediary between restaurants and contractors on warranty issues related to assigned systems.
  • Support corporate initiatives through effective communication and field support.
  • Assist in identifying contractor performance gaps during reinvestment or repair projects.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial kitchen equipment efficiently.
  • Communicate updates regarding parts orders and repairs with both the corporate office and individual stores.
  • Complete service calls promptly and accurately.
  • Regularly audit truck inventory to ensure stock availability of essential parts.
  • Carry out intermediate-level equipment and accessory installations.
  • Conduct regular surveys of safety devices and equipment.
  • Maintain a safe condition for all equipment, parts inventory, and tools in your service vehicle.
  • Request necessary equipment, parts, and supplies to maintain appropriate inventory levels and ensure readiness for repairs/installation tasks.
  • Produce detailed service reports that accurately reflect the conditions encountered during service calls.
  • Operate service vehicles responsibly and safely.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT

Up to 75% travel required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent and professional communication skills, capable of interacting with customers and management at various levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining organization.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Hands-on approach to all tasks and projects.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in complex situations.
  • Must possess neat handwriting and be proficient in paperwork management.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting, testing, repairing, and servicing foodservice equipment.
  • Background in automotive, electrical, installation, and mechanical fields is beneficial.
  • Clean driving record required.
  • Able to lift up to 70 lbs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES

  • Education: High school diploma/GED required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in commercial kitchen repair.

STANDARD WORK HOURS

Monday to Friday; some weekend and evening travel may be required. Standard hours typically range from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with variations expected during restaurant operating hours.

Required qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • 18 years or older.
