This position will support ColumbiaDoctors, one of the largest multi-specialty practices in the Northeast. ColumbiaDoctors practices comprise an experienced group of more than 2,800 physicians, surgeons, dentists, and nurses, offering more than 240 specialties and subspecialties./ppThis position is primarily remote, candidates must reside in the Tri-State area. There may be occasional requirements to visit the office for training, meetings, and other business needs./ppJob Summary: The Accounts Receivable Specialist III is responsible for follow-up work to collect on all open and unpaid accounts with insurance companies and third parties. Responsibilities will include supporting unit supervisor and manager in assigned duties, assisting staff with complex cases, inquiring about unpaid claims, appealing denied claims with insurance companies, and contacting patients or account guarantor. The AR Specialist III must exhibit professional and courteous behavior at all times during communications./ppJob Responsibilities:/pulliHandle complex and high-dollar cases/accounts./liliDetermine resolution, research the root issue and pursue a course of appeal or follow-up to obtain payment./liliAddress incoming correspondence and prepare correspondence to insurance companies, patient and/or guarantor./liliContact insurance companies/patients/guarantors to obtain the status of outstanding claims and submitted appeals./liliDocument claim issue and course of action taken./liliElevate billing and collection problems to Supervisor as needed./liliPerform charge corrections./liliReview account history for third-party sponsorship./liliAssist supervisor/manager with any assigned functions./liliAssist with training support of new hires./liliPerform demographic/insurance coverage updates on the account and bill new insurance as appropriate./li/ulpJob Qualifications:/pulliHigh school graduate or GED certificate is required./liliA minimum of 2 years experience in a physician billing or third-party payor environment./liliCandidate must demonstrate the ability to understand and navigate contracts, insurance benefits, exclusions, and other billing requirements as well as claim forms, HMOs, PPOs, Medicare, Medicaid, and compliance program regulations./liliCandidate must demonstrate strong customer service and patient-focused orientation and the ability to understand and communicate insurance benefits explanations, exclusions, denials, and the payer adjudication process./liliExperience in Epic and or other electronic billing systems is preferred./liliKnowledge of medical terminology, diagnosis, and procedure coding is preferred./liliPrevious experience in an academic healthcare setting is preferred./li/ulpHourly Rate Ranges: $27.88 - $36.06 Note: Our salary offers will fall within these ranges based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, skill set, training, and education./ppAt 61st Street Service Corporation, we are committed to providing our clients with excellent customer service while maintaining a productive environment for all employees.
