Supervisor: Program Director/Intern Instructor

Position Summary:

Necco has an opportunity for a position as a Necco Center Intern. This role requires an educational component i.e. practicum, field experience, internship, or course credit hours. The Center specializes in supporting individuals with borderline intellectual functioning, pervasive developmental disorder (including Autism Spectrum Disorder), and learning disorders that interfere with the ability to benefit from traditional educational programming. In addition to providing supervision, education and social activities, the Center also has on-site behavioral health professionals to address any mental health needs. The Necco Center Intern will specialize in either behavioral health or case management services support the activities of their team.

The candidate selected will be responsible for the following:

Data Entry

* Submit all documentation in a timely, accurate, and complete manner, if applicable

* Learn and execute Necco's core software applications, if applicable

* Understand Medicaid requirements and billing process, if applicable

Caseload Management & Productivity

* Shadow the treatment planning process from intake to discharge based on client diagnosis and need

* Shadow individual, family and group mental health services, as required

* Assist with completing accurate client records per regulations

* Shadow Necco Center Employees interactions with foster parents, parents, school personnel or other treatment team members to address client's diagnosis, progress and barriers.

* Shadow Clinical Intakes

* Assist staff with tasks as assigned

Crisis Prevention/Risk Management

* Shadow safety planning

* Shadow documentation of critical incidents or other risk-related concerns

* Shadow assessments for medical necessity

Leadership and Development

* Collaborate with the treatment team and attend team meetings

* Participate in weekly supervision

Intern Specific

* Develop a learning contract that marries the intern's educational requirements with tasks and responsibilities of their position

* Create an overarching internship project that benefits the intern as a learner and Necco

Corporate Citizen:

Position Qualifications:

* Minimum of 21 Years of Age

* Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services-related field and currently enrolled in a Mental health graduate program (MSW, MS, Counseling) or working to obtain the Bachelor's degree and needing the intern credit hour(s).

* Valid Driver's License

* Training and Travel willingness

* Excellent organizational and technological skills

* Excellent written and oral communication skills

* Successful completion of all required criminal background checks

* Must possess the skills to navigate and execute software programs (i.e Microsoft Office, Database, Electronic Health Record, Dashboard)

* Must have the ability to identify issues and willingness to discuss with appropriate teammates

* Must have the ability to enter timely and accurate data

* Must have the ability to adhere to scheduled and unplanned deadlines
