We're recruiting on behalf of a leading steel manufacturer in Huntington, WV that is expanding its finance team. This Staff Accountant role offers the chance to support both day-to-day accounting operations and month-end financial reporting in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

What You'll Do

• Manage fixed assets, cash tracking, payroll preparation, and customer credit policies
• Post journal entries, reconcile accounts, and assist with month-end close
• Perform cost and variance analysis, including inventory and operations review
• Prepare sales, financial, and operational reports using ERP and internal systems
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and federal/state regulations
• Partner with cross-functional teams to analyze results vs. budget and support decision-making
• Assist with special projects and process improvements as assigned

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required)
• Hands-on experience in public accounting or corporate finance (minimum two years)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; familiarity with ERP or accounting software
• Strong attention to detail with proven accuracy in reporting and documentation
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
• Excellent communication skills, with confidence in working with all levels of management
