Avalign Technologies is seeking a hands-on, strategicManager, Software Developer to lead the application landscape across all sites. In this role, you will architect, develop, and maintain enterprise applications while managing a hybrid team of internal developers and external vendors. This is a unique opportunity to combine leadership, technical acumen, and strategic planning to drive Avaligns enterprise applications forward.

This position will be a remote work-from-home role with minimal travel required.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and manage a team of 26 internal and external resources, including third-party vendors, to deliver high-impact solutions.
  • Oversee application development lifecycle: planning, design, documentation, coding, testing, deployment, and support in line with Avalign SDLC standards.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, one-on-ones, and annual performance reviews to support development, and engagement.
  • Manage capacity planning and resource allocation in collaboration with IT leadership.
  • Provide advanced (Level 2 & 3) application support including root cause analysis and performance optimization.
  • Lead planning and budgeting for application enhancements and project delivery.
  • Maintain an updated project portfolio and manage prioritization efforts.
  • Build and maintain strategic vendor relationships and oversee the application product portfolio.
  • Contribute to build-vs-buy decisions and long-term application strategy.
  • Collaborate with the broader IT Leadership Team on cross-functional initiatives and governance.
  • Ensure application environments are properly configured and maintained throughout the lifecycle.
  • Evaluate enhancement requests and provide effort estimates and solution recommendations.
  • Lead or support ad hoc projects as assigned.
  • Escalate risks and issues with actionable resolution paths.
  • Travel up to 20% for team collaboration or project implementation.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of enterprise application development experience (custom and third-party).
  • At least 5 years in technical team leadership and 2 years in project/ERP management.
  • Experience in regulated environments (e.g., medical device, pharma) is a plus.

Technical Expertise

  • Proven success leading the architecture and delivery of scalable, enterprise-grade application systems across diverse functions.
  • Deep knowledge of the Microsoft tech stack: .NET Core, C#, ASP.NET MVC, Entity Framework.
  • Strong experience with SQL Server including schema design, performance tuning, and data integrity.
  • Proficient in system integration using RESTful APIs, SOAP, and middleware solutions.
  • Oversight of CI/CD pipelines, version control (e.g., Git), and cloud platforms (Azure or AWS).
  • Experience with business intelligence and reporting platforms like SSRS and Power BI.
  • Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile, and DevOps to effectively lead cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with unit, integration, and regression testing frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of VMWare, LAN/WAN networking, and Active Directory.
  • Cloud development experience is a plus.
