Job Summary:
The HR Assistant provides administrative support to the Human Resources department and helps ensure the efficient day-to-day operations of HR functions. This role assists with recruitment, onboarding, employee records, benefits administration, and general HR support to employees and managers.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the recruitment process, including job postings, resume review, interview scheduling, and background checks.
Support new hire onboarding by preparing paperwork, conducting orientation, and maintaining employee files.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records (paper and digital).
Assist with benefits enrollment, changes, and employee questions.
Help track attendance, leave requests, and employee absences (FMLA, PTO, etc.).
Support HR staff in preparing reports, letters, and other documents.
Answer routine questions regarding HR policies and procedures or direct employees to the appropriate HR staff member.
Assist with payroll processing by gathering and verifying employee information as needed.
Help coordinate employee engagement activities, trainings, and events.
Ensure confidentiality and compliance with all employment laws and company policies.
Qualifications:
High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
Previous experience in an administrative or HR support role preferred.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems (preferred).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Work Environment:
This role typically works in an office setting, Monday–Friday. Some flexibility may be required based on business needs.
