Job Description
Overview
Nelson Mullins, an AmLaw 60 firm, is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys in our Huntington office. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative, fast-paced team that handles complex litigation matters.
A Day in the Life
We're seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our team—someone who brings at least six years of law firm litigation experience and understands the critical role a paralegal play throughout the litigation life cycle. From case preparation through trial, you will serve as a key contributor to our legal team's success.
In this role, you will take ownership of case calendars, monitor court deadlines, and ensure timely electronic filing in both federal and state courts under attorney supervision. You'll conduct online research, draft pleadings, notices, and motions, and play a hands-on role in trial preparation. You'll also be responsible for requesting and summarizing medical records and compiling medical chronologies for attorney review.
We Know You
We're looking for someone who is organized, detail oriented, and adaptable. You should be comfortable managing multiple deadlines and shifting priorities, while maintaining a high standard of accuracy in your work. Strong critical thinking skills, initiative, and a team-first mindset are essential for success in this role.
A two- or four-year degree and a paralegal certificate are preferred, though equivalent work experience will be considered. Familiarity with legal research tools and the flexibility to work overtime when needed are also important.
