Shopsmith is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team in the Manufacturing industry. As a part of our organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of our financial data and supporting our strategic financial planning and reporting processes. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining the highest standard of accuracy. You will be responsible for various accounting functions, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and month-end closing activities. In this role, you will also collaborate with internal departments to provide financial insights that will drive business performance and facilitate effective decision-making. Your analytical skills and attention to detail will be vital in interpreting complex financial information and assisting in the preparation of financial reports. Responsibilities
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and GAAP.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions in a timely manner to support operational efficiency.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports for management review.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts to support financial planning activities.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to gather financial data and provide insights for decision-making.
  • Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support the month-end close process by ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and on time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
