Job Title: FULLY REMOTE Civil Engineer

Must have a BS in Civil Engineering with 5+ years of experience in Land/Site Development

Job Description

Work closely under project managers to produce commercial site plans in AutoCAD Civil 3D. Engage in sub-division design, visit job sites to ensure construction matches design, and consult with clients. Manage up to five projects simultaneously, with projects typically lasting 1-2 weeks and spanning different phases. Involvement from initial surveying to final stages of permitting, taking 2-3 months for small projects and 4-5 months for large projects.

Responsibilities

• Produce commercial site plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

• Engage in sub-division design.

• Visit job sites to ensure construction matches design.

• Consult with clients and city/government organizations to gather necessary information.

• Manage multiple projects in different phases simultaneously.

• Participate in the process from initial surveying to the final stages of permitting.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a similar field.

• 5+ years of design experience in commercial land development or site design.

• EIT certification required, PE preferred.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

• Experience with site plan design, stormwater management plans, drainage calculations, and detention calculations.

• Strong understanding of contours and grading plans.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills with clients, colleagues, and team members.

• Experience with site development, stormwater management, and land development.

Work Environment

Typical projects include suburban commercial site plans and residential subdivisions located across IA and surrounding states. The firm comprises 8 Professional Engineers, 5 Land Surveying crews, and Landscape Architects with a total of 40 employees. This position is open due to growth and the firm has reoccurring customers. The work environment includes regular performance-based bonuses, frequent team outings, and a high-energy focus on meeting project deadlines. The office has a laid-back culture with a ping pong table and golf outings, and employees have the freedom to visit job sites as necessary.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $120000.00/hr.
