Job Responsibilities:

  • Works with potential and active collaborators and business teams' understanding and exchanging clinical datasets to be used in operational analyses increasing business partner awareness of utility of data science in meeting community healthcare deliverables.
  • Brings clinical review to all projects to ensure that usability of business decision functionality is achieved.
  • Participates in the standardization of all of database and dataset documentation.
  • Participates in strategic and tactical planning for operational application development of healthcare statistical analyses, reporting and enhancements with management staff and Informatics team.
  • Structure data models and databases and work with stakeholders to develop and evaluate specific application functionality and enhancements of the operational datasets for reliability in forecasting.
  • Works in cooperation with stakeholders, Marshall Health IT, Informatics' system architect and data scientists to test user new interfaces to applications throughout the software development life cycle.
  • Works cooperatively on the applications by helping to refine the data mart dictionaries.
  • Conducts systems analysis, testing, and documentation.
  • Learns and integrates new technologies.
  • Works as part of a team to support Informatics operational deliverables.
  • Interacts in a positive and friendly manner with stakeholders and coworkers.
  • Works safely and efficiently in performing job functions.
  • Integrates applications by designing database visualizations (dashboards).
  • Establishes a continuous performance and quality improvement effort and monitoring and reporting systems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

Education: Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Clinical Informatics, or related field, and Master's degree in Healthcare Administration.
Experience: Strong demonstrated understanding and application of Business Intelligence tools, Tableau and Power BI. Strong math and statistics background, specifically, distribution functions, linear and non-linear models. Hands-on database experience: data structures, modeling, and SQL expertise. Familiarity with revenue cycles and EHR data standards, coding schemes and ontologies, including but not limited to ICD-9/10, RxNorm, and CPT required. LEAN Certification preferred. Experience as a Health Services Manager preferred.
