SUMMARY
The Supervisor Quality Assurance is responsible for the day-to-day function of the Quality Assurance Department for HBE (Huntington, Burnaugh, and Elkhart). The Area Supervisor Quality Assurance coordinates, manages and assists with any plant quality issues as they pertain to products, critical processes or procedures, division quality requirements and reporting, as well as ISO, ASME, AS 9100, Laboratory, and customer standards. The Area Supervisor Quality Assurance also works with Special Metals' Suppliers, Purchasing and Engineering to improve purchased part/material quality to a consistent high level.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Coordinate the day to day functions of the QA Department.
Coordinate the Supplier Partnership Program with Purchasing.
Participate in supplier and internal quality system audits and surveys.
Review and monitor supplier interface from receipt of material through rejection notification and corrective action when necessary.
Provide technical interface between suppliers and the plant on purchased products.
Promote quality consciousness, motivating personnel to perform and produce to the best of their ability with regard to quality and productivity.
Help to develop inspection procedures, plans, guidelines and records for all work areas to ensure the control of product quality is maintained.
Assess the need for new gages; arranging for their purchase or creation and assuring their accuracy by directing inspection, calibration and use.
Keep the Manager of Quality and Testing apprised of all issues involving quality.
Assist in analysis of material problems, investigate any issues and follow up, conduct any reliability testing necessary.
Coordinate all activities associated with the facility quality certifications (ASME, ISO, NADCAP, Military Specifications)

Accomplishes all tasks as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
4 year degree in related field. Four years of experience in engineering and/or quality in a manufacturing environment is required.
In lieu of a 4 year degree, a 2 year degree in a related field with 6-8 years of metals industry experience required in a QA/QC role.
Certification in Quality Systems Lead auditing

Ability to adjust and prioritize work to meet deadlines.

Strong communication, organizational and teamwork skills.
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office required).
Strong background in Quality Management Systems auditing.
Strong background corrective actions and the quality tools used for effective corrective actions.
